Episcopal Church Women (ECW). One organization within the Diocese of Chicago. I was approached to create a logo for their monthly newsletter.
This was part of an assignment at school. The idea was to prepare a logo to represent the group on a street fair and promote animal anti-cruelty.
After a trip to Alaska, I was playing around in Photoshop and an idea came to mind. After viewing some videos about making globes in YouTube, I decided to play with my own pictures, and this is what I came up with.
A posted created for a presentation award at the MoMA in NY.
By using an image of the person being honored, I converted this to a vector and then used those colors through the work. Typography was incorporated to create interest. Used Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Photograph by yours truly. I took an image of a wine bottle in the house and glass with some fake fruits and created what would be a table of content in a wine magazine.
Used colors from the bottle to give attention to the sections on the magazine.
Another one of my photographs. This time, I am giving a little history of my hometown in Puerto Rico.
Picking colors from the image, I used it on the background box. Using white to bring the name of the town to focal view.
A classroom work to identify typography and how shapes can tell a story that otherwise would be lost.
The second page of prior work.
